A novel non-phosphorus cooling water treatment technology to address environmental and operational challenges.

Ashok Shetty

There has been an emphasis on the development of non-phosphorus (non-P) cooling water treatment technologies for cooling water systems that provide the necessary performance while addressing environmental and operational challenges. Non-P programs are of particular value to eliminate phosphate-based deposition, aid in microbiological and algal growth control, and meet P discharge regulations. The presentation will include an examination of Engineered Carboxylate Oxide Film (E.C.O.Film)* non-P technology, a discussion of the value proposition with a focus on addressing environmental and operational challenges, among other benefits, and a review of select field implementation cases. * Trademark of SUEZ; may be registered in one or more countries.
