With all of the thought, planning, and effort that goes into the safe design, construction, and management of today’s high technology facilities, emergency situations will still occur. To minimize the consequence of these emergencies, EHS professionals must develop and implement effective emergency response programs. This presentation will look at the key elements associated with emergency preparedness and response at high technology operations. We’ll cover the underlying reasons behind why emergency response programs are necessary — both regulatory and best business practices. We’ll explore the design of the program — from assessing the vulnerabilities to jsutifying the scope and expense. We’ll look at the logistical issues and design of training programs. We’ll also talk about best known practices and where to get resource information on designing and implementing the program.
