This course will cover NFPA 70E “Standard For Electrical Safety in the Workplace”. It will focus on both the systems safety aspects of this document as well as the hard requirements for worker protection. Topics to be covered will include the following: · The 70E Approach to worker safety · Administrative requirements for 70E compliance · Establishing a safety work condition as defined by 70E · Implementation of a “Hot” work permit policy · Protecting against electric shock, electrocution, and arc flash hazards · The 70E lifecycle approach to safety The course will cover both the theory and broad sweep of 70E as well as the practical application of this important safety standard. The objective will be to provide useful information for experienced safety professional to take away and improve their electrical safety program.
