Maximizing Metrics for Effective EH&S Program Evaluation

In the field of high technology, EH&S departments have struggled to identify the most effective method of evaluating the progress and performance of safety initiatives. Traditional methods, like tracking OSHA recordables, are no longer as effective as they once were and new methods are often to numerous to sort through. By determining what other professionals are using and the perceptions of each metric being used, a new system that incorporates the most effective, least restrictive metrics can be implemented. By developing a standardized industry wide metric program, communication can be opened between professionals and valuable comparisons can be made between facilities.
