Many electronics manufacturing companies are trying to address EICC work hour limitations by modifying work shifts. It is important to understand and address sleep issues for shift work in this process. This presentation and resulting discussion will focus on current shift patterns in electronics manufacturing facilities around the world. We will then take a look at the latest studies on sleep deprivation and resulting challenges for shift workers. Suggestions for changing shift patterns to reduce negative sleep effects and related issues will then be presented and discussed.
