Jewett, Jim
(Intel Corporation)

The World Semiconductor Council (WSC) is an organization whose members are the world’s five major semiconductor associations. Founded after the World Semiconductor Trade Agreement expired, the WSC includes ESH as one of three categories it addresses for the industry on a global basis. The WSC’s Chemical Management Working Group has an overall objective to improve the semiconductor industry’s ESH performance (for customers, employees, the public and the environment) through international harmonization. Current focus areas are chemical data development and associated risk assessment, pollution prevention and evaluation of international ESH regulation and legislation. This presentation will detail the objectives, current status and future plans for these areas and how they integrate with similar global and U.S. efforts.
