In today’s environment, there is a critical need for Semiconductor manufacturers to maximize the efficiency of their operations, while reducing cost and overall impact to the environment. With increased materials, process complexities and environmental standards, companies are having to become extremely innovative in their approach to technology development as well as high volume manufacturing. This discussion will highlight key trends in the materials era, costs associated with advanced development and manufacturing and trends in the materials supplier landscape. We’ll examine perspectives that look beyond simple ‘green chemistry’ and explore the broader effects of material strategies which comprehend multiple factors beyond unit process requirements.
