Emerging regulations, customer demands and internal company sustainability goals are driving organizations towards more careful consideration of their manufacturing practices and related impacts on the environment. Tracking environmental performance requires the development of product-centric metrics. To fully comprehend overall environmental impacts, both upstream supply chain and downstream waste disposal activities must be considered in addition to company specific manufacturing. This presentation will focus on recent studies, coordinated by ISMI, to identify major semiconductor support and manufacturing environmental aspects, and establish a set of Key Environmental Performance Indicators (KEPIs). These KEPIs can be used to measure, analyze and eventually reduce environmental impacts from semiconductor products.
