Tad Ferris (rferris@bdlaw.com) is Partner at Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. and Co-chair of the firm’s International Section and China Group. His practice focuses on international law, investment risk management and regulatory compliance in developing countries, with a focus on product stewardship regimes in emerging economies such as China. Tad serves as legal advisor to multinational corporations investing in these economies, as well as multilateral financial institutions and governments on issues such as the development of legal regimes governing environmental protection, new technologies, and market access. Among other positions, Tad has served as legal counsel to a number of Chinese legislative officials and senior government institutions, is the Chair of the United States Council for International Business (USCIB) China-Environment Working Group and is a member of the China Task Force of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the OECD. Tad serves as outside counsel to the Program Advisory Committee for the American Bar Association (ABA) China Environmental Governance Project. Tad also is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the non-profit International Fund for China’s Environment (IFCE), a member of the Board of Directors of the non-profit Professional Association for China’s Environment, and legal advisor to the corporate China EHS Roundtable. Tad is fluent in Mandarin, and speaks Southern Min, Japanese, and French.
