This program will introduce participants to the concepts of sustainability and examine the growth of corporate social responsibility. The course will provide an understanding of the basic precepts of sustainability, as set forth by international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and will explore methods for measuring (metrics) and benchmarking sustainable practices. The course will examine the growing interest in corporate social responsibilty, and will explore the assessment and verification of social responsibility within the U.S. and globally. The course will examine corporate environmental and social resposnibility reporting and will include exercises in development of accurate reports, normalization of metrics, and verification of field reporting.
