Sanjay Baliga is a Senior Manager in the Global EHS Division of SEMI in San Jose. SEMI is the global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chains for the semiconductor, photovoltaics, solid state lighting, display, and related high technology industries. SEMI has more than 2,000 member companies and maintains more than a dozen global offices in North America, Europe and Asia. Baliga is responsible for global coordination of EHS, sustainability, and social responsibility activities at SEMI. Baliga has more than 18 years of professional experience addressing issues at the interface of science, engineering, management and policy, using his expertise in environmental risk management and sustainability. Before coming to SEMI, Baliga was an independent consultant providing regulatory, scientific, and technical consulting services to a wide variety of chemical industry companies, trade associations and research councils. Previous to that, he worked at or with the United Nations, Yale University, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the U.S. Institute of Medicine, the U.S. Chief of Naval Operations, and the World Resources Institute. Baliga has a bunch of academic degrees from Stanford University, the University of Michigan, and Yale University.
