Julian Lageard was born and educated in the United Kingdom graduating with both Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Master of Science degrees in environmental and resource management. Having worked in the European Parliament and in government affairs consultancy in Luxembourg and Brussels for more than 8 years, Julian joined Intel Corporation in December 2000 as Government Affairs Manager (Environment, Health & Safety) responsible for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. His role and function within Intel includes corporate responsibility. He sits on the Executive Board of the American Electronics Association (AeA) of Europe and has been the Chair of the Environment Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AMCHAM EU) for the past three years. Julian also is an active member of several other trade associations at EU and at national level including the European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA) and the European Information, Communications Technology and Consumer Electronics Association (EICTA).
