Faith Seal – SESHA Fellow
Faith Seal recently retired from Nanosys, Inc., a nanotechnology/nanomaterials company in Palo Alto, California, where she was employed as the EHS Specialist for four years (2006 – 2010).
Prior to that Faith was an EHS Consultant at the Laboratories division of Agilent Technologies in Palo Alto, California. She started her industrial hygiene career at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories in 1984 and moved to Agilent when it spun off from Hewlett-Packard in 1999. Prior to the company split, she held the position of Health & Safety Manager.
Faith earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Hawaii; during this time, she also served in the US Naval Reserves. Faith enjoyed a ten year career as a Supervising Clinical Laboratory Technologist for UC San Francisco at the Clinical Labs of San Francisco General Hospital; finally tiring of hospital work, she attended the University of California, Berkeley where she obtained her Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Health Sciences with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene. She is certified in the Comprehensive Practice by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
Faith served on the Board of Directors for SESHA and has participated in the planning of several conferences in various capacities. Her interest is in the area of health and safety implications of new and emerging technologies.
