Paul Connor – SESHA Fellow
Paul serves as Director of EHS for the Electronic Materials Business Group of Dow (formerly Rohm and Haas and formerly Shipley Company). During Paul’s 28 year tenure he has had global responsibility for all areas of EHS, Product Safety, and Sustainability. During this period the company was involved in 14 acquisitions which had Paul overseeing significant EH&S expansion of its Asian EH&S footprint.
Prior to this Paul was the Corporate EH&S Manager for Millipore Corporation and also an Industrial Hygienist for W.R. Grace.
Overall, Paul has over 38 years’ experience as an EHS professional in the chemical, medical, and electronic materials industries. He holds a B.S. in Health Sciences from Merrimack College and a M.S. in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts. Paul has been a Certified Industrial Hygienist since 1985.
Paul has been a member of the SESHA since 1989 and a member of the Board of Director’s since 2006. Paul served as SESHA President for two terms from 2009-2010 and again from 2014-2015. Paul was responsible for leading the SESHA board through several structured Strategic Planning processes that resulted in a formal plan for the future direction of the organization.
Paul has been on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Chemistry and Technology Alliance and served as its Chairman from 1998 to 2001.
Paul is also very active in the local community. He is past Chairman of the Board of Director’s for the Boys and Girls Clubs of MetroWest Boston and was honored by receiving the MetroWest regional Community Volunteer Award in 2007. He has also served on the Board of Director’s for the Greater Marlborough Chamber of Commerce and is active is the United Way.
