This presentation will review developments around the globe relating to chemicals of interest to the semiconductor industry, including developments in the U.S., European Union and Asia pertaining to persistent chemicals, metals, precautionary chemical controls and risk assessment. The presentation will then address strategies for the semiconductor industry to take preemptive action before business disruptions occur due to chemical restrictions and to minimize liability and reputational risks, including strategies for tracking “chemicals of concern”; securing “essential use” regulatory status; and identifying more environmentally-viable replacement chemicals .
