Sr. Environmental Engineer & LEED Program Manager, Intel, ARCADIS, Green Ideas

Taimur Burki is a Senior Environmental Engineer and LEED Program Manager for Intel Corporation at the Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. Taimur began working for Intel in 1997 after graduating from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth with a Master’s degree in Environmental Impact Assessment. Taimur also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Biology. Taimur experience includes chemical and solid waste management, decontamination, storm and wastewater, emergency response, construction environmental management, and green buildings. Taimur is Intel\\\\\\\’s recycling expert and has created the standard methodology that all Intel manufacturing sites are utilizing to improve their recycling performance and documentation. Since taking ownership of the recycling program at Intel Ocotillo, Taimur has been responsible for improving the site\\\\\\\’s recycling performance from 66% of solid waste diverted from landfill to 89%. Taimur embarked on the pursuit of LEED certification for Intel in 2004 and is the LEED green building program at Intel\\\\\\\’s Ocotillo campus.
