Steven Roberge – SESHA Fellow

Steven Roberge is the Director of EHS for Axcelis Technologies, Inc. He is responsible for personnel safety at Axcelis, worldwide, as well as managing Product EHS issues concerning Ion Implanters, Ashers, and Photostabilizers.

Steve has been a member of SESHA for 20 years. He has served on the Board of Directors of SESHA for 8 years, and has served as President, and Editor of the SESHA Journal. Steve continues to serve as SESHA’s Treasurer. In 2010, Steve was selected to receive the SESHA President’s Award for his work on SESHA’s social networking initiative.

Steve has presented at numerous SESHA, SEMI and other international conferences and has published on a variety of practical and technical topics including toxic gas management, ionizing radiation, new source material review, developing materials management regulations, preventative maintenance safety, energy conservation and Ion Implanter Safety.

Steve has also been active in EHS activities with SEMI, particularly in the development of SEMI EHS standards and in the International Compliance and Regulatory Committee, most recently contributing to the REACH and Conflict Minerals working groups.

Steve has more than 21 years EHS experience in the semiconductor industry, all with Axcelis / Eaton. Prior to joining Axcelis, Steve worked in a variety of EHS positions in the specialty chemical, printed circuit board and consulting industries. Steve has a B.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Massachusetts.
